To Denim or not Two Denim, that is the question

We thought we’d seen the last of the double denim trend when Irish pop band, B*Witched jigged their way out of the charts way back in the 90s.

But as they would say, ‘C’est la vie!’ Trends have an awful habit of returning; like it or not. Denim has never gone away and its versatility and comfort is probably why it reigns supreme in the style stakes. With the risk of looking like some Western cowboy caricature, can we honestly jump on this bandwagon?

Double denim can work and the key is BALANCE. Here are some of the do’s and don’ts of doubling denim daringly.

  1. DO: if you are a novice, experiment with different colours of denim eg white jeans and a denim jacket or black jeans with a chambray shirt.
  2. DON’T:EVER think about denim accessories
Is there ever a right time to wear denim shoes?
  1. DO: work different shades of denim to flatter your shape.

For most of us, it is better to wear a darker shade of denim on our bottom half and a lighter shade up top.

  1. DON’T: be matchy matchy

Try to find a different wash or weight of denim as it tends to look better.

  1. DO: dress up your denim

Dress up your denim duo with heels or a blazer or colour popping lipstick!

Come into any of our Style boutiques and any one of our fabulously warm members of staff will be happy to style you into some quality denim.
