The Espresso Martini!

As you can clearly see our Daniel doesn't really have the correct skill ( or recipe) to make the perfect Espresso Martini. It looks a little more like a glass of Bailies!

Let’s be honest — we all think we know how to make an Espresso Martini. But then someone (hi Daniel) hands you a cocktail that looks suspiciously like a glass of Baileys, and you realise… not all martinis are created equal.

So, in the spirit of caffeine-fuelled excellence, we’re here to set the record straight and share the secrets to mixing up the perfect Espresso Martini — one that’s smooth, velvety, just sweet enough, and definitely not curdled-looking.

It’s a cocktail that hits all the right notes — bold espresso, silky vodka, just a hint of sweetness, and that iconic foam top (barista-worthy, please). It should feel like your 8pm pick-me-up and your night-out bestie had a very stylish baby.

The Ingredients

1 shot of freshly brewed espresso (yes, freshly – none of that instant stuff, we beg you)

1 shot of vodka (the smoother, the better)

¾ shot of coffee liqueur (we use Tia Maria, but you do you)

Optional: ¼ shot of sugar syrup (if you like it sweet, but not necessary if your coffee liqueur does the job)

Bonus garnish: Three coffee beans on top – for health, wealth, and happiness (and Instagram, let’s be real).

The Method (aka the shake-it-like-you-mean-it moment)

Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with a good handful of ice.

Shake like you’re trying to forget about that one time you called your boss “mum” — we’re talking vigorous. This is how you get that glorious foam top.

Strain into a chilled martini glass (this is not a pint glass moment, Daniel).

Garnish with three coffee beans. Sip. Swoon. Repeat.
